The design process began with an assessment of the brand framework shared by Roya Nakheel and Roya Sedra. While the developments belong to the same family, their interiors and architecture differ in materiality, light, spatial organisation and atmosphere.

For Roya Nakheel, cooler materials, shaded environments, smooth surfaces and strong vertical compositions informed the emerging visual language. Rather than treating physical signage as a separate layer, the approach used these characteristics to shape proportion, form and placement.

The strategy considered how residents and visitors would move between communal spaces, amenities and residential areas. Early narrative and spatial cues were used to establish a consistent navigational logic before detailed physical elements were developed.

This created a foundation for future implementation in which identification, information hierarchy and placement could respond to the architecture while remaining connected across different parts of the development.

The core design concept combines angular geometry with modular structures. These principles create a repeatable visual system that can be extended across later Wayfinding & Navigation applications without fixing every element at the pre-concept stage.

Early iconography studies use vertical strokes, proportional consistency and modular detailing to establish a graphic family capable of expanding as the project develops.
