The design process began by identifying primary user groups and the different ways they would use the centre. Four experiential modes emerged from this analysis: Focus, Connect, Relax and Play.

These modes became a framework for organising the relationship between movement, activity and environmental character. Site analysis examined circulation, operational requirements and patterns of use across both levels, allowing individual areas to respond differently while remaining part of the same overall navigation system.

Concept development explored references including natural landscapes, traditional courtyards and neural networks. The final direction combined qualities of layered topography with the openness and communal character of courtyards and piazzas.

Moss, maple wood and tactile surfaces formed part of the material language, alongside interventions integrated into walls, staircases, graphics and shared surfaces. These elements gave environmental identity a role in navigation and reduced dependence on repeated directional signs.

The Focus Zone includes workshops, offices, meeting rooms and study spaces, using a restrained navigational language appropriate to concentrated activity.

The Connect Zone covers more communal environments including lounges, collaboration areas, the food court and auditorium, where information becomes more visible within active shared spaces.

The Relax Zone includes quieter lounges, communal environments and the main entrance, using environmental cues, floor graphics and integrated artistic interventions.

The Play Zone covers the game room and recreational spaces, where physical communication adopts a more tactile and visually expressive character.
